Six soils from the tablelands of Brazil were studied micromorphologically. The soils examined were yellow latosols and low activity clay podzolics which correspond to oxisols and ultisols of the soil taxonomy. As a result of the micromorphological examination it is thought that clay translocation has taken place in all these soils, even in those classifed as latosols. It was also observed that the plasma of these soils tends to form microaggregates. Additionalyly it is believed that formation of iron nodules is a contemporary process in these soils. |
