The Serra de Santana microregion, located in the cashew cultivation Pole of Serras Centrais, is an important cashew production center in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. This micro-region accounts for almost a quarter of the State?s nut production. Currently, only the CCP 76 dwarf cashew clone is grown in the region, which limits both the choice of producers and the diversification of products offered to the cashew market. In addition, this situation makes cashew cultivation vulnerable to the frequent climatic and phytosanitary problems that occur in the region. Thus, it is of fundamental importance to know the agronomic performance of new clones in order to provide alternatives for cultivation in the environmental conditions of that region and that meet the requirements of the cashew agribusiness.
