Genetic divergence for 7 characters was assessed in 39 strains of fodder cowpea [Vigna unguiculata (Linn.) Walp. subsp. cylindrica (Linn.) Van-Eseltine] using D2-statistic. The population was grouped into 5 clusters, of which 2 had only a single strain each. The varieties differed significantly for the 7 characters considered collectivelv. Leaf number and branches/plant contributed masimum towards the total divergence. |
