We assume that the distribution of organic nutrient forms in soil is strongly invluenced by different tree species and that the distribution is strongly influenced by the movement of dissolved organic matter through the soil profile. We tested this hypothesis for under various species of a multi-strata agroforestry (Bactris gasipaes Kunth., Theobroma grandiflorum (Willd. ex Spreng) K. Schum., Pueraria phaseoloides). In addition, woody species of secondary forest (Vismia spp) and primary forest, in the Manaus-AM (Brrasil). (Eschweilera spp, Oenocarpus bacaba) were studied. Under all studied species, the proportions of organic nutrient forms in soilmatrix increased with soil depth. This suggests that dissolved organic matter largely contributes to the leaching of nutrients into the subsoil. In fact, the predominant proportion of N and S in the soil solution was organically bonded. |
