From an experiment conducted during summer 1980 at Main Irrigation Research Station, Navsari, to findout the effect of irrigation on growth and yield attributes of summer groundnut (Var. GAUG-1)it was observed that treatment receiving the highest as well as the lowest number of irrigation adversely affected the number of primary branches, total number of pods per plant, number of matured pods per plant and pod yield.The optimum IW/CPE rations for scheduling irrigation to summer groundnut was 0.7 which received seven irrigations including two common irrigation of 60mm and rest five of 80mm depth with water use efficiency 4.58kg/ha-mm of water which favourable produced the boldest pods and kernels. The shelling percentage was adversely affected at highest levelof soil moisture stress. |
