Surveys have shown the progress of Citrus Variegated Chlorosis (CVC) through São Paulo State, and others regions of Brazil. About 34% of orchards of São Paulo are affected by CVC. Six year-old 'Pera' citrus trees were selected for their well developed CVC symptoms in Pirassununga, São Paulo State. GA 50 mg.L-¹ plus 2,4-D 8 mg.L-¹, chlormequat 2000 mg.L-¹, Pachlobutrazol 500 mg.L-¹, MH 1000 mg.L-¹, Dichloprop 125 mg.L-¹, potassium nitrate 1.5%, zinc sulphate 0.35% and Phos-for-us 1%, were applied in December 19, 1998 and March 30, 1999. Nutrients on leaf in March 30, 1999 and the mean number of fruit per branch in September 21, 1999, were determinated. Sprays with foliarfertilizers containing nitrogen, potassium, sulphur and phosphorus, increased the level of these elements in trees affected by CVC. Fruit number was increased with GA plus 2,4-D before harvest. |
