Four free living N2-fixing strains (Burkholderia sp., Bacillus sp., Sphingomonas sp. and Paenibacillus sp.), isolated from rhizosphere of the carnivorous plant Drosera villosa var.villosa, were inoculated with and without AM fungi on plantlets of Tabernaemontana australis and Cytarexilum miriantum, two strategic pioneer plants largely used in reforestation areas. Important aspects related to establishment and development of these species were evaluated, such as shoot and root weights, roots length and bacterial survival in the rhizosphere. In both plants bacterial strains survived in the rhizosphere and endorhizosphere. Plant growth and root increased in the interaction between bacteria and AM fungus, but only C. miriantum showed significant differences. These results show that the strategy of combining N2-fixing bacteria and AM fungus can be advantageous for reforestation of degraded environments, depending on the plant species used. |
