For two soil types (vertisol and ferrallitic soil), two land management - either marker gardening or pastures - involved the differentiationof organic status in quantity and quality. Soil structural stability was affected. By two experimental approaches, in the laboratory and on the field using rainfall simulation,it was displayed the positive effect of soil organic matter on soil aggregation and the decreasing of soil detachment. Ferrisol had a better stability than vertisol. Soil organic matter which was responsible for the increase of soil stability was colloidal organic matter linked with clay particles. This organic matter permitted the development of medium-sized soil aggregates (5-200um) for the vertisol and largest aggregate (>200um) for the ferrisol. consequently,it was observed, for the situations with high organic content, a sensible decreasing: 1. of soil dispersability detected with the laboratory method and 2.of soil detachment detected with the field method (rainfall simulation). Field results had a good fit with the laboratory results. |
