Agricultural activities have expanded dramatically in Brazil during the last 30 years, causing significant damage to the original Cerrado ecosystem and threatening the Pantanal biome. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop such a system, which can predict erosion and all other related problems of this area. Now days, remote sensing from satellite platforms has become increasingly important as the only means of achieving the spatial and temporal coverage global land process. Due to this, remote sensing is very useful tool to monitor the ecological and environmental parameters. So, present work aims to describes the conception of the development of a Spatial Decision Support System (SDSS) to assist land use management of the Upper Taquari Basin, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil being a useful tool to environmental decision makers and propose a remote sensing based model to assess the erosion process using National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) data. |
