The penetration and development of second stage juveniles (12) of Meloidogyne javanica were studied in soybean roots of resistant (Pl 595099) and susceptible (250 BRSMG Nobreza) genotypes, inoculated with 500 J2/plant. The roots collected in different time courses showed higher J2 penetration in 'Nobreza' with predominance of 13/J4 juveniles, formation of giant cells and galls. The histopathological findings showed that the reduced gall formation and egg masses found in PI 595099 evidenced that there was a barrier that limited the complete development of M. javanica in this genotype. |
