The aggressiveness of Brazilian isolates of Phytophthora infestans was assessed to test the hypothesis that changes in the pathogen population imply in no host specificity. Five epidemiological variables were assessed in two experiments: incubation period (IP), latent period (LP), lesion area (LA), infection frequency (IF) and sporulation capacity (SC). Variables were assessed on detached leaflets and stem fragments of susceptible potato and tomato cultivars. |
