The bioassay on seed germínauon was performed m controlled conditions of 25"C temperature and a 12 hour photoperiod, while lhe one concerrnng radicle and hypocotyl clongation was performed at lhe same ternperature, though adopting a photopenod of 24 hours. The results varied according to lhe receptor spccies, lhe fracnon utilized, and its concentration. TLC analysis of lhe fractions and comparison with isolated products indicated that lhe diterpenes pachvdictyol A and isopachvdictvol A werc lhe most abundam compounds in fraction HE, whcrcas lhe diterpene ô-hydroxy-dichotomano-Z, 13-diene-16, 17-dial (3) was the most abundant cornpound in fractions DC and EA. Analysis of less polar fractions (in n-hexane, dichloromethane and ethvl acetate ) revealed values of less than 30% inhibition. On lhe other hand, lhe ethanol/water fraction was lhe most active in ali mstances lhe biological activity of these fractions must be due 10 lhe prescnce of known diterpenes and!or sulfated polysaccharidcs isolatcd rn carlicr studies. aAlga Marinha aErva Daninha aPastagem aEfeitos inibitórios aProduto natural marinho1 aSOUZA FILHO, A.
