The SBRN is a forum dedicated to neural networks and other models of computational intelligence, which is sponsored by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). SBRN is the leading conference in Brazil dedicated to Neural Networks (NNs) and related areas, including Fuzzy Logic, Evolutionary Computing, Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning, and various soft computing technologies. The main focus of the conference is on original theories and novel applications dealing with the use and analysis of computational intelligence techniques. SBRN is an international conference with an international program committee, and the papers have been written in English and and published by Conference Publishing Services (CPS), a division of IEEE Computer Society press. The program has 10 Technical Sessions organized around specific focus areas and 6 pre-conference tutorials. In 2010, as it has occurred since 2002, the SBRN was held jointly with the Brazilian Symposium on Artificial Intelligence (SBIA). The Symposium covers topics related to Artificial Neural Networks, Evolutionary Computation, Fuzzy Systems and other models of computational intelligence. The emphasis of the SBRN is on original theories and novel applications of these models. The SBRN has an international Program Committee, which includes well-established researchers from Brazil and abroad. The papers submitted to the SBRN2010 represented a broad range of research developed in Brazil and other countries. We received 94 submissions and after a rigorous reviewing process, 45 papers were accepted to be orally presented. All papers were reviewed by, at least, two independent referees. aArtificial intelligence aFuzzy Logic aComputational Intelligence aEvolutionary Computing aInteligência artificial aInteligência computacional aLógica fuzzy aMachine Learning
