M. A. aNutritious value of Brachiaria decumbens and Brachiaria humidicola in the Pantanal, Brazil. c2003 aThis work aims to evaluate the nutritious value of B. humidicola and B. decumbens in three ages (up to 2 yeras old, between 5-10 years old an over 10 yeras old). Data was collected on these species in the Pantanal, on the following parameters: neutral detergent fiber (FDN), acid detergent fiber (FDA), lignin, crude protein, macronutrients (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium and potassium) and micronutrients (manganese, iron, zinc and copper). The FDN, FDA and lignin values showed significant differences (P<0.05), being the greater values observed for B. humidicola. According to age for crude protein, there was a significant difference (p<0.05) only for 5-10 y.o. The greatest crude protein value was found for pastures up to 2 y.o. in B. decumbens. Magnesium, sodium, potassium, manganese and iron for B. decumbens and B. humidicola are in agreement with the minimum requirements for the three age periods. Only B. humidicola over 10 y.o. has the recommended zinc and copper amounts. None of the other ages have the recommended amounts for these micronutrients for breeding cows. The grasses (B. humidicola and B. decumbens) supply the needs of breeding cows for FDN, FDA and lignin. acalcium acrude protein anutritive value aPantanal aCálcio aPastagem aValor Nutritivo aMacronutrients aMicronutrients aPasture aProteina crua1 aBARIONI JUNIOR, W.1 aBRANCO, O.
