R. aPattern of dry matter accumulation and nutrient uptake in cassava under rainfed and irrigated conditions c1986 aPattern of dry matter accumulation and nutrient uptake in three varieties of cassava viz. Sree Sahya, Sree visakham and M-4 as affected by different levels of nutrient supply under rainfed and irrigated conditions were studied in field experiments conducted at Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Trivandrum, India, during 1981-82 and 1982-83. Supplementary irrigation provided to cassava during dry spells, promoted total biomass production, accumulation of dry matter in the storage roots and uptake of nitrogen, phosporus and potassium. Among the varieties, the hybrid Sree Visakhan was capable of diverting higher dry matter for storage root production when compared to the other two varieties under irrigated conditions.1 aMOHANKUMAR, B.1 aPILLAI, N.
