Foram realizados testes em ovinos e caprinos tratados por via oral com ivermectin, a 0,2 mg/kg, oxfendazol, a 4,75 mg/kg, e closantel, a 10 mg/kg. A eficacia dos anti-helminticos foi verificada atraves do teste de reducao da eliminacao de ovos nas fezes antes de dez dias apois o tratmento com anti-helmintico. Em caprinos e ivermectin e closantel tiveram eficacia de 69% e 85% respectivamente. Em ovinos, o exfendazol nao foi eficaz, enquanto a eficacia do closantel foi de 83%. Aparentemente as causas de resistencia foram sub-dosagem e rapida rotacao de principio ativo. Anthelmintic resistance of gastrointestinal nematodes from sheep and goats, in Pentecoste county, State of Ceará. Abstract: The occurrence of anthelmintic resistance in gastrointestinal nematodes of sheep and goats and the determinant factors of this developmental resistance were investigated at Fazenda Experimental do Vale do Curu, in Pentecoste town in the State of Ceará. The animals were orally drenched with ivermectin (0.2 mg/kg), oxfendazole (4.75 mg/kg) and closantel (10 mg/kg). Anthelmintic efficacy was verified by reductions faecal egg counts before and ten days after anthelmintic treatment. In goats, ivermectin and closantel exhibited an efficacy of 69% and 85% respectively. In sheep, oxfendazole had no effect, while closantel efficacy was 83%.
