A proposed list of herbicides and rates for trial use by growers is presented in Table 8. From all indications, the needed improvement in sweet corn weed control in Hawaii will require continued research to find more satisfactory herbicides, especially chemicals that will not injure other vegetable crops planted following corn, because of residue in the soil. Although Table 8 gives recommended procedures for using the herbicides registered for use on sweet corn, one must bear in mind that registration of herbicides changes frequently. In order to use herbicides safely and effectively, consult your Cooperative Extension Service for the latest information on the use of a specific herbicide. aMilho Doce aZea Mays aHavai aHerbicidas aHerbicide aSweet corn1 aROMANOWSKI Jr. R.
