Embryos should be used only when they are in an optimal physiological state as regards notably their maturity and metabolic status. Modifications of recovery conditions can greatly increase the survival rate of zygotic embryos. In the case of oil palm somatic embryos, pregrowth on medium with hith sucrose concentration is necessary to induce tolerance to desiccation and cryopreservation. aCafé aCoco aCocos Nucifera aCoffea Arábica aCultura de Embrião aDendê aCoconut aCoffee aCoqueiro aDendezeiro aEmbrijo culture aOil palm1 aDUMET, D.1 aCHABRILLANGE, N.1 aABDELNOUR-ESQUIVEL, A.1 aASSY-BAH, B.1 aDEREUDDRE, J.1 aDURAL, Y. tPlant Genetic Resources Newslettergn.103, p.27-31, 1995.
