G. dos aDeficiencia de manganes em mandioca no Estado de Sergipe. c1982 aRESUMO - Com o objetivo de verificar a relação entre o aparecimento da clorose internerval de folhas de mandioca (Manihot esculenta Crantz), o estado nutricional das plantas e as condições de solo, foram colhidas e analisadas amostras de folhas de plantas cloróticas e não-cloróticas e amostras de solo em torno das plantas amostradas. 0 Mn foi identificado como causa da clorose, quando este nutriente chegava abaixo do nível de 20 ppm nas folhas de mandioca. Baixos teores de Mn nas folhas e a exteriorização dos sintomas de deficiência do nutriente ocorreram quando os valores de pH do solo eram superiores a 5,8 e quantidades de Ca++ e Ca++ + Mg++ no solo acima de 3,8 e.mg/100 g e 5,2 e.mg/100 g, respectivamente. ABSTRACT - This work was carried out in the field to study the relationship among the appearence of intervein chlorosis of the cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) leaves, the nutritive state of the plants, and the soil conditions. Samples of leaves taken from chlorotic and non-chlorotic plants, as well as, sarnples from the soil around them, were collected and analyzed. The manganese was the chemical element identified as the cause of cassava's leaf chlorosis. The symptoms of manganese deficiency appeared on the cassava leaves, when this nutrient reached levels bellow 20 ppm in the leaves.
