The plantations were located in Agudos (Sao Paulo State), latitude 22o20'S-22o22'S, longitude 48o49'W-48o51'W, altitude 600m. For all species, an increase of wood specific gravity in relation to age was observed. The differences of plantation wood specific gravity were significant in relation to species and ages. The annual increment in wood dry weight/area is directly and positively corelated with the annual wood volume increment/area. This relationship is expressed by the linear equation y=1,771+0,3153x, where y=annual increment in wood dry weight/ha, x=annual wood volume increment/ha. It would be diserable to include wood specific gravity plantations studies in the species and provenances trials. The parameter wood dry weight yield/area is interesting for plantation wood quality and mineral nutrients requirement studies. aPinus aPinheiro aDry weight aPeso seco tIPEF, Piracicabagn.17, p.78-89, 1978
