M. de aVegetative propagation of Prosopis alba cuttings as influenced by the stock plant mineral nutrition and misting procedures. aKingsville: Texas A & I Universityc1986 a121 p. aDissertacao Mestrado aThe effect of stock plant fertilization and the influence of mist and humidification systems on rooting of Prosopis alba were evaluated in three experiments. Experiment one compared the rooting of cuttings obtained from fertilized and non-fertilized stock plants. The mean rooting percentage was 58% for cuttings from fertilized and 48% for cuttings from the non-fertilized stock plants. Leaf and stem nitrogen phosphorus and carbohydrate were measured but only, stem nitrogen was correlated with rooting percentage. Experiment two examined the influence of increasing concentration of nitrogen stock plant fertilization on percent rooting. The rooting percentage was not affected by the concentrations of nitrogen stock plant fertilizaton. However, stock plant fertilization will be necessary to stimulate the growth required for commercial production of cuttings. Experiment three evaluated the rooting of cuttings under mist, and mist plus polyethylene, fogger and polyethylene bag systems. An 81% rooting was obtained under the mist while only 55%, 41% and 14% was obtained under polyethylene bags, mist plus polyethylene and fogger systems, respectively. acutting avegetative propagation aAlgaroba aEstaca aFertilidade aPropagação Vegetativa aProsopis Alba aFertilization aMesquite aMineral nutrition aNutricao mineral
