Merrill), em diversas épocas de semeadura e diferentes cultivares, foi realizado um experimento, nos anos agrícolas de 1976177, 1977178 e 1978/79,em Dourados, MS. Os resultados mostraram que altura da planta e da inserção do primeiro legume não diferiram significativamente nos diversos espaçamentos usados. Não houve diferença estatística para produção de grãos, em qualquer espaçamento analisado. Houve diferenças entre épocas de semeadura, e ocorreu um decréscimo de rendimento no sentido da semeadura realizada em 15 de outubro para a semeadura efetuada em 15 de dezembro. A duração dos períodos de desenvolvimento (emergência à floração e emergência à maturação) não foi influenciada pelos diferentes espaçamentos. As características agronômicas foram compatíveis para colheita mecânica em todas as épocas e espaçamentos estudados. ABSTRACT - Having in mind that a row spacing may affect grain yield and result in agronomic characteristics more adequate for the mechanical harvesting of soybean (Glycine max (L. Merrill) during different planting time and for different cultivars, an experiment was conducted during the agricultural years of 1976177. 1977/78 an 1978/79, at Dourados, MS, Brazil. The resulta indicated that the height of the plants and the height of the attachment of the first legume were not affected by the various spacings used. There were no row spacing effect on grain yield. There were differences among planting dates and a decrease in yield was obsarved between planting made on 15 of October and that made on 15 of December. The length of the periods of development (emergence to flowering and emergence to maturity) were not influenced by the different row spacing.
