[In vitro activity of benzimidazoles: oxfendazole, fenbendazole, albendazole and thiabendazole in goat gastrintestinal nematodes]. Abstract: This study was carried out to determine and to compare lhe "in vitro" activity of the benzimidazoles oxfendazole, fenbendazoie, albendazole and thiabendazole on caprino gastrointestinal nematodes. Fecal culturas were performed and treated with benzimidazole anthelminths using tive different wncentralions 6,25, 12,5, 25.0, 50.0 and 100.0 ppm, Five fecal cultures were prepared for each coneerüation, using distilled water in the control cultures. Thiabendazole and albendazole, showed lhe highest reduction percentage of infeclive larvae of Haemonchus, Strongyloides and of the living females of Stongyloides. Oxfendazole ranked in an intertnediate position, and lenbendazole had lhe lowesi efficacy. Against lhe infectivo larvae of Trichosfrongytus, oxtendazale, albendazole and Üiiabendazole had efficacy higher ilian 95%, whereas fenbendazole was lower 95.0%. Infective larvae ai Oesophagostomum were reduced by all four benzimidazoles tested with efficiencies above 96%. aAnthelmintics aBenzimidazoles aChemical control aGoats aHelminths aLarvae aNematoda aNematode infections aAnti-helmintico aBenzimidazol aCaprino aControle químico aHelminto gastrintestinal aNematóide aAnthelmintic aanti-helmínticos acoprocultura aFecal culture aInfective larvae aLarva infectante alarvas infectantes aNematódeo gastrintestinal1 aGONÇALVES, P.
