A. C. aA chlorophyllase differentially expressed in resistant cotton during infection with Colletotrichum gossypii var. cephalosporioides.h[electronic resource] c2015 aResistant and susceptible cotton cultivars were infected with Colletotrichum gossypii var. Cephalosporioides in order to identify differentially expressed transcripts associated to disease tolerance. Plants were grown in greenhouse and sprayed with a fungus suspension at 1 x 106 conidia mL-1. Young leaves were collected to total RNA extraction at 3 and 15 days after inoculation. For molecular procedures, 3 days after inoculation leaves-RNA were used to RT-PCR reactions, with ten pre-selected RAPD primers. Eight of these primers exhibited polymorphic bands and were selected for transcripts analysis. Differential expression was visualized in both cultivars in down and up regulations and also new apparently activated transcripts were registered. A transcript (200 bp) obtained from cv. resistant BRS Antares exhibited homology (86%) with the GmChl 3 gene (AB181949.1) that codifies to Chlorophyllase III in soybean plants. Dot blot analysis revealed that this transcript was over-expressed just in a resistant cv. Antares at 3 and 15 days after inoculation. acotton afungi aAlgodão aColletotrichum gossypii aStress aCephalosporioides aDisease aRamulosis1 aMELO FILHO, P. DE A.1 aLIMA, L. M. de1 aSANTOS, R.
