This paper describes an approach for the development of farm management system using a framework that has been developed from the first version of the FMS environment. FMS is a software development environment for farm management systems. It has been used for the definition and generation of some applications. The experience acquired in the development of these applications enabled its evolution generating the framework proposed. This framework aims to help the software development process of the farm management applications, from the activities specification until the generation of the operational programs. It applies the the methodology and tools from the FMS software production environment combined with CASE tools, object-oriented and visual programming techniques. The generated applications run under Windows. The experience acquired in the development of the windows based applications under this framework is also presented in this paper. The current situation of this work is also discussed, as well as its evolution, attempting to keep in pace with the technological evolution. |
