Plant viruses are most frequently transmitted by insects, but some nematodes, fungi and mites can also be vectors of important viral diseases. In addition to their common mite vector, Brevipalpus (Acari: Tenuipalpidae) - transmitted viruses (VTBs) are charecterized by the bacilliform or bullet shaped particle morphology, the presence of a characteristic intranuclear eletctron lucent viroplasm and the introduction of chlorotic or necrotic local lesions in their hosts. Clerodendron clorotic spot virus (CICSV) was fisrt found in Clerodendron x speciosum plants from a purified preparation of mechannically inoculated Clerodendron quinoa and Clerodendron amaranticolor plants, then linked to adapters and amplified by PCR.The amplicons were cloned in Clobejet PCR cloning kit (Fermentas) and the transformants were sequenced by the .... |
