Simulation models have been developed for decades due to the increasing need to understand physical phenomena occurring in soils. In this study the model LEACHM-P (leaching estimation of chemistry model - pesticide), was used to analyse experiments under lysimeters conditions. LEACHM-P is a simulation model that can be applied for studying the dynamics of pesticides under various environmental conditions including laboratory and field experiments. Several submodels are available where can be simulated soil temperature, rainfall, pesticide half-life and other environmental variables. In this work the model LEACHM-P was calibrated to taking into account Brazilian environmental conditions and retention curve parameters. The lysimeter experiments data simulated in this study were carried out in a field experimental facility located at IAC (Sao Paulo Agronomical Institute), Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil. That facility has lysimeters with different soil textures and differents depths. Nine lysimeters with two different podzolic soils (Pindorama and Monte Alegre do Sul) from Sao Paulo State, Brazil, were employed. The herbicide atrazine was applied to the lysimeters, at the rate of 500g a.i. ha-1, using water as carrier. Three rainfalls were applied to each lysimeter in the 2nd, 3rd and 34th day after the application of atrazine, with intensity of 30mm h-1. At Pindorama lysimeters, atrazine persisted up to 25 days but became non-detectable after 35 days... |
