In cassava transgenic plants have been obtained by using particle bombardment, electroporation, and Agrobacterium tumefaciens. Transgenic tissue was selected using kanamycin, hygromycin or phosphinothricin as selective agents or by the activity of the firefly luciferase gene. Both transgenic and regenerated plants obtained from an 2-3 1/2 years oldtms60444 FEC culture were morphological different from the parental genotype. The origin of this variation is both genetic and epigenetic. Plants regenerated from younger FEC lines of tms60444 were in-vitro morphologically similar to the parental genotype. |
