ABSTRACT: A research was conducted during 2003 and 2004 by Embrapa Cerrados in the Distrito Federal, Brazil. The VCU trials were part of the national bean improvement organization whose evaluation of common beans lineages aim at the recommendation for crops in the Brazilian savanna region and has as an objective to indicate beans cultivars with high productive potential and resistance to the main pests and diseases, the best architecture to mechanical harvest and with good culinary qualities. The lineages were grouped according to the color of the grains ("carioca", black and group diverses composed of purple, red and "rosinha" types). The lineages of the carioca group were CNFC 9435, CNFC 9458, CNFC 9461, CNFC 9471, CNFC 9484, CNFC 9494, CNFC 9500, CNFC 9504, CNFC 9506, CNFC 9518 and CNFE 8009, with the control group being the cultivars Pérola, Pitoco, Iapar 81, Magnífico and Carioca II. The lineages of the black group were CNFP 7966, CNFP 7972, CNFP 7994, CNFP 8000, CNFP 9328, CNFP 10138, T8 94-09 and T8 97-13, with the control group being the cultivars Diamante Negro, BRS Valente, Uirapuru, FT Nobre and Soberano. The lineages CNFC 9461 from the carioca group, CNFP 7994 and CNFP 10138 from the black group and CNFR 10241 and FEB 163 from the diverses group showed better adaptation to the edaphoclimatic conditions of the region during the evaluation period, having sufficient potential to become future introduces as cultivars for the Distrito Federal. ABC transporters represent one of the largest superfamilies of active membrane transport proteins (MTPs) with a highly conserved ATPase domain that binds and hydrolyzes ATP, supplying energy for the uptake of a variety of nutrients and for the extrusion of drugs and metabolic wastes. The complete genomes of a non-pathogenic (J) and pathogenic (7448) strain of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, as well as of a pathogenic (53) strain of Mycoplasma synoviaehave been recently sequenced. A detailed study revealed a high percentage of CDSs encoding MTPs in M. hyopneumoniaestrains J (13.4%), 7448 (13.8%), and in M. synoviae53 (11.2%), and the ABC systems represented from 85.0 to 88.6% of those CDSs. Uptake systems are mainly involved in cell nutrition and some might be associated with virulence. Exporter systems include both drug and multidrug resistant systems (MDR), which may represent mechanisms of resistance to toxic molecules. No relation was found between the phylogeny of the ATPase domains and the lifestyle or pathogenicity of Mycoplasma, but several proteins, potentially useful as targets for the control of infections, were identified. |
