The final step of the genetic breeding process consists in the evaluation of new genotypes during successive production cycles in different ecosystems. The objec-tive of the present work was to verify the behavior of banana genotypes evaluated in different locations in Brazil. The experiments were carried out during 2003/2004 in the municipalities of: Guanambi-BA, Una-BA, Cruz das Almas-BA, Campos- RJ, and Petrolina-PE, where 7 banana genotypes (varieties and hybrids) from dif-ferent genomic groups were evaluated in two production cycles. The genotypes evaluated were: Japira, Pacovan Ken, Calipso, Ambrósia, Grande Naine, Prata Anã and Pacovan. The experimental design was in random blocks with 7 treatments and 3 replicates. The Grande Naine cultivar presented promising agronomic char-acteristics in all locations evaluated for both production cycles and the county of Una-BA, was the location where the genotypes presented the worse performance for both cycles evaluated. |
