The basidiomycete Phakopsora pachyrhizi, the causal agent o soybean rust, is an economically important pathogen of soybean worldwide. To understand pathogenic variation of the rust populations in South America, an evaluation system for soybean rust resistance has been developed based on infection types produced on a setaf 16 differential varieties. The evaluation system was used to investigate pathogenic variation among the P pachyrhizi populations in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. |
