The use of the phosphorothionate triesters in the control of insect pests has increased steadily since introduction some 25 years ago. There presently some 60 phosphorothionate insecticides in use or being tested for use in the control of insect predators. Parathion (0,0-diethyl p-nitrophenyl phosphorothionate) is presently the most widely used of these compounds. Each of these phosphorothionate triesters is metabolically converted in animals to the corresponding phosphate triesters. These phosphate triesters are potent inhibitors of acetylcholinesterase, a reaction which account for the toxicity of these compounds to insects and other animals. |

This study aimed to evaluate yield and physiological traits of plants and bromatological and morphological responses of fruits of forage watermelon genotypes under different water supply. Seven genotypes were used (BGCIA 228; BGCIA 239; Jojoba; BGCIA 228 x BGCIA239; BGCIA 228 x Jojoba; BGCIA 239 x Jojoba and BGCIA 991) and four water supplies (470; 370; 270 and 170 mm) during the crop cycle. |
