Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common malignancy worldwide. In the last years, the number of cases has been increasing rapidly, mostly in South American nations. Individuals with inflammatory bowel diseases, especially, have an increased risk of developing CRC, as chronic inflammation can lead to dysplasia. On the other side, the consumption of healthy-linked foods, such as fruits and vegetables, could lower CRC risk. |
