Abstract: Thirty pregnant Angora goat does were employed in an experiment designed to study the effect of administration of exogenous oestrogens on the induction of abortion. Experimental animals were injected with stilboestrol dipropionate in amounts ranging from 0,5 mg to 10 mg per day. Ninetyfive per cent of the experimental animals aborted while none of the control group did so. Histological examination of corpora lutea samples collected from aborters showed, without exception, advanced luteolysis at the time of expulsion of the conceptus. |
