Abstract : Seven Jamnapari goats of varying ages were maintained by browsing without supplemental roughage or concentrates up to slaughter at between 9.5 and 18.5 months of age, at liveweights of between 12.5 and 31.0 kg. Meat was tender and palatable, even at 18.5 months. Average dressing percentage was 48.86, with little difference among goats. |
