Abstract: The resistance of helminths to anthelmintics can be diagnosticated by ?in vivo and in vitro? techniques. The Egg Hatch Assay is a fast and economic in vitro technique. In the period from May to October 2002 the LD50 of thiabendazole was evaluated, in relation to the period of infection of Haemonchus contortus and Trichostrongylus spp. resistant strains, and one of Teladorsagia circumcincta susceptible, through Egg Hatch Assay. With strain of Teladorsagia circumcincta, an increase of LD50 was observed from 70 to 100 days after infection, frequently causing a false positive result of resistance (LD50 above 0.1ppm). The same tendency was observed with Haemonchus contortus from 120 to 155 days after the infection. The LD50 of thiabendazole did not show significant variation in function of the time of infection for the strain of Trichostrongylus spp. MenosResumo: A resistência de nematóides aos anti-helmínticos pode ser diagnosticada por técnicas ?in vivo e in vitro?.
