The aid of veterinarians in selecting beef bulls is badly needed by many operators of beef cattle enterprises. Reproductive problems associated with beef bulls can often be attrubuted to an inadequate process of selecting beef bulls for breeding purposes. In this respect, guidelines for selection that give adequate weight to basic reproductive soundness must be considered an important aspect of the veterinarian's preventive medicine program. |
