SUMMARY - The results of 10 years of leaf analysis in 4 varieties (Baianinha, Natal, Pera and Valencia, all on Rangpur lime) was evaluated accordig to classes of productivity (from less than 400 boxes up to more than 800 boxes per hectare). The large number of data compiled allowed for some generalizations to be madein this case in which leaves from fruit bearing terminals were analysed: there is a general trend for leaf N, P, K and Zn to decrease as productivity increases; Ca levels tend to raise with productivity; no consistent variations was observed with respect to Mg, S, B and Mn; as a consequence there of Ca/k ratios move upward, where as K/Mg and Zn/Mn tend to decrease. A comparison was made among "adequate" levels found in this paper and those suggested in the Brazilian literature on the subject: the chief differences concern leaf K and Mg which seem to be lower than the published values. A fairly good agreement was found with respect to the other elements. It should be pointed out, however, that in the case of N and P the present values tend to coincide with the lower values in the ranges which define adequate. It is suggested that minor changes should be introduced in the interpretation tables and that further work is required in order to again even better information. |
