Conteúdo:  To obtain the basic information concerning the soybean cultivar differences of physiological and ecological responses to soil pH to select stable higher yielding cultivars and to improve cultural management of soils differing in pH, the responses of soybean plants in growth, grain yield, nodule formation and it's activity, and major chemical compositions of soybean plants were investigated with 16 and 6 cultivars under three and two different levels os soil pH in pot and field experiment during 1985 to 1986, respectively. Acidic soil condition suppressed overall vegetative growth of soybean plants and thereby decreased stem length, number of nodes, leaf area, dry weight of the plants, nodulation and nodule activity, the contents of allantroin nitrogen, total nitrogen, phosphorous, calcium, and magnesium of the plants. Due to such responses of soybean plant to the acidic soil, grain yield also decreased along with less grains per plant. And the response to soil pH showed significant varietal differences. There were significant correlation between soil pH and grain yield in 7 cultivars among 16, but were not in other cultivars among 16, but were not in other cultivars. However, the slight difference in growth and yield of the cultivar Janbaegkong in response to soil pH is considered to be a good source of breeding material tolerant to acidic soil condition. In this regard Bongeui and Ulsan also were relatively stable in the growth and grain yield under the different soil pH co... Mostrar Tudo
