A PC-based hipertext program was created utilizing high resolution color graphics to provide a rapid identification tool for the prevalent plants found in various types of Midwestern wetlands. The hypertext presentation is structured so that the program can be readily used by senior high school and above students, educators, field staff, etc. The overall organization includes an introduction to wetlands, swamps, bogs, fens, marshes, wet pairies potholes, deep water wetlands, obligate plants, facultative-wet and facultative plants. Each wetland type has 25 to 40 of the most prevalent plant species. The program is able to sort on obligate, facultative-wet and facultative. It is available at cost from the farm building plan service at Purdue University. |
