In the semi-arid regions the acclimatisation process from tissue culture to the field is a problem compared to the humid tropics. The reasons are a long dry season, the very dry atmosphere and both siurnal and sasonal temperatura range. Previous data from cassava (Manihot esculwnta Crantz), trials Mozambique, where IITA and CIAT methods were compared to a locally adapted method, were not very successful> The objective was to develop a practical anda efficient method of transference and acclimatisation of cassava ex-tissue culture plantlets in the greenhouse. This work compares the effect of planting dates, levels of light, substrate, fertililiser, humidity chambers and size on survival |
