Six pairs of half embryos were recovered from a superovulated goat 7 days after insemination. All of them were at the expanding blastocyst stage and were bisected microsurgically using a metal blade. Three pairs of half embryos were frozen and the three other pairs were surgiclly transferred into the uterine horn of 3 synchronized recipient goats. All of these three recipients became pregnant and produced 5 viable kids: female twins, male twins, and a male kid. Japanese native goats were superovulated using FSH. Three embryos recovered 7 days after insemination were split and transferred to synchronized Japanese Saanen goats. |
