Various components of the biology of the cowpea aphid (Aphis craccivora Koch), subterranean clover stunt virus and their host plant have been assembled in a simulation model. The aphid-host-plant relationship is examined against a profile of a temperate environment. It is concluded that the species is primarily a warm weather species and that it isnot adapted to breed in the temperate climate of south-east Australia. The potential of different types of mortality factors is also examined. |
