A study was conducted at Vicosa, Minas Gerais, to test the influence of container and substract on the production of Eucalyptus grandis seedlings. The variables measured were seedling height and survival rate, 30 days after sowing. It can be concluded that, independently of container type and substract, best growth in height was attained by using the "torrao paulista", a container made of compressed soil. Highest survival rates were achieved by using plastic bags and "toga-flora". Worst growth in height was found using "toga-flora", "fertil-pots" gave the lowest survival rates. |
