Abstract: Wheat blast caused by Magnaporthe oryzae pathotype Triticum (MoT) has become an important fungal disease on wheat and is now present in most of the important wheat-producing tropical regions of the world. This study evaluated head blast incidence on the spikes of 281 hexaploid wheat genotypes and two Triticum durum cultivars across three years (2011?2013) in the Cerrado Biome in the Brazilian Midwest, a hotspot area and where the highest disease levels have been recorded. Forty eight host lines exhibiting moderate to high resistance to the disease included synthetic hexaploid wheat genotypes (SHW) and derivatives (17), breeding lines (16), landraces (2), and cultivars (13). Thirty early genotypes were identified to have head blast incidence levels similar to the moderately resistant cultivar BR 18. In addition, seven medium maturing genotypes and ten late maturing genotypes had average disease incidence scores on spikes below 35%. These were grouped separately from all other materials. This study also indicated a strong correlation between head blast incidence and yield loss, indicating that incidence could be an appropriate selection parameter in breeding programs targeting blast resistance. |

O objetivo desta pesquisa foi realizar um pré-diagnóstico da utilização dos pomares urbanos de espécies frutíferas pelos moradores da cidade Corumbá, MS. A pesquisa foi realizada no primeiro semestre de 2012, onde foram entrevistados 11 moradores donos de quintais com plantas frutíferas. As principais questões que nortearam esta entrevista foram: Quais espécies? Cultivadas ou espontâneas? Nativas ou exóticas? O que sabe sobre elas? Quais as vantagens e dificuldades em mantê-las? Procedência? Para que as utilizam? Os dados coletados foram então tabulados e submetidos à análise descritiva. Dentre os principais resultados, observou-se nos quintais visitados uma grande diversidade vegetal de frutíferas. De modo geral, estes produtos não são comercializados. A maioria das espécies encontradas são exóticas. De acordo com os entrevistados, o interesse maior é em consumir o fruto in natura ou na forma de suco. Nos quintais visitados foram encontradas 31 espécies pertencentes a 19 famílias. The objective of this research was to conduct a pre-diagnosis use of urban orchards of fruit species by city dwellers Corumbá, MS. The research was conducted in the first half of 2012, where 11 residents were interviewed owners backyards with fruit trees. The main questions that guided this interview were: Which species? Cultivated or spontaneous? Native or exotic? What do you know about them? What are the advantages and difficulties in keeping them? Provenance? For that use them? The collected data were then tabulated and analyzed descriptively. Among the key findings was observed in backyards visited a wide variety of vegetable fruit. Generally, these products are not commercially available. Most species are exotic. According to respondents, the greatest interest is in eating the fruit raw or in juice form. In backyards visited were found 31 species belonging to 19 families.
