This work presents the electrophoretic profile of goat and cow milk samples and their mixtures using microfluidic and conventional electrophoresis. The microfluidic method allowed the separation of the major caseins from milk, excepting the goat kappa-casein. Besides, the major whey proteins were separated with perfect distinction of A and B beta-lactoglobulin variants. Comparing to SDS-PAGE, a variation in the molecular weight was observed in all milk proteins. However, A and B beta-lactoglobulin variants could not be isolated using SDS-PAGE. Although urea-PAGE did not show high resolution among whey proteins, y-, k-, beta-, and alpha-caseins were clearly identified. This method also showed a lower limit detection of cow milk in mixture samples than the "lab-on-a-chip" electrophoresis. In both methods, the highest linearity obtained from plotting total percentage against cow milk concentration was observed by using cow ?s1-casein (R2 = 0.986 and R² = 0.973). This result indicates that microfluidic electrophoresis is an effective tool to detect the presence of some proteins in goat and cow milk, and in mixtures. Microfluidic chip technology might will complement the current methods for analyzing milk proteins, highlighting its speed amount of reagents and whey protein separation, which showed a better result than urea or SDS-PAGE |

Some regions of the Cerrado Biome present edaphoclimatic conditions restrictive to the maximum productive potential of agriculture and livestock. In these regions, experiments with crop-livestock system (CLS) show that this strategy allows the intensification of agricultural production in a sustainable manner. Rotation, intercropping and succession of crops producing grains or silage with forage species, and conservationist soil management such as no-till and correction of the soil profile favorable to root growth, allow the exploitation of the agricultural area, especially when there is a water deficit. In fifteen years of conducting the CLS, the production of agricultural crops met the demand for food and, also, provided grain yields above regional averages, and even national averages. In addition to the lower risk, the strategy adopted met internal demand and generated surplus grain and silage for commercialization, increasing income. In the temporal analysis of the CLS, the adoption of sustainable soil and crop management practices has, over time, overcome the region's edaphoclimatic limitations, in an economically viable way, based on adequate land use planning, and by the choice of appropriate combination of crops, properly aligned with the livestock activity of interest. |
