Eggs from an organic chicken flock were submitted to microbiological examination by conventional methods. Eggs were randomly collected at different times. Their shell surface and internal content were examined for coliforms estimation at 35 and 45°C. Total Plate Count, and Salmonella spp.The sbsence of Salmonella/25 g and coliforms on the shell surface and in the internal egg content, besides no sgnificant quantification of the total bacterial count indicated good quality and food safety of these organic eggs. |
