Abstract : Body weight and body measurements were recorded at 4-wk intervals from birth to 32 wk of age on Muzaffarnagri and Corriedale X Muzaffarnagri lambs. A linear function, an exponential function and a quadratic function were fitted to the body-weight data of the 2 genetic groups separately. The R2 values for the linear and quadratic functions were >0.95, and those for the exponential function were approx 0.91. Differences in height between the 2 groups became apparent from 8 wk of age, and continued increasing with age, purebreds being taller than crossbreds. |
