[Intake and digestibility of dry matter and organic matter of diets with broken bean for Saanen breed]. Abstracts: This study had as objective evaluates the nutritional value, intake and digestibilily of the broken bean in diets of Saanen. breed . Fourteen were used of the Saanen divided in two treatments where the first group received concentrated with 30% of inclusion of broken bean and the second group received concentrated containing 60% of bean band, with roughage/concentrate ratio of 40:60. The experiment had duration of 77 days, being 65 days of adaptation of animals to diets and five days for collections of samples of the offered diets, surpluses, feces and it urinates. The level dry matter were analyzed it evaporates in greenhouse to 105oC, ashes, crude protein and nitrogen by method of Kjedhal. They were certain the fiber tenors in neutral detergent (FDN), fiber in acid detergent (FDA) and hemicelulose. The used completely randomized design in a factorial arrangement 2x2. The averages was compared by the test SNK in level of 5% of probability. The values of aver intake of dry matter in kg had been of 0,59 kg; 3,15 % of live weight and 65,34 g/UTM. The intake organic matter was 0,57 kg; 30,03 % of alive weight and 63,07 g/UTM. Broken bean is a by-product that can be used in the feeding of animals, therefore these had presented values of fellow creature consumption and digestibility to the recommended values. An experiment was carried out to compare the use of fresh cactus with cactus ensiled with and without a microbial inoculant in sheep diets by examining their feed intake, nutrient digestibility, nitrogen balance, and microbial protein synthesis and counting fecal enterobacteria. Twenty uncastrated mixed-breed sheep at approximately six months of age, with an average initial weight of 23.48 ± 2.40 kg, were used in the study. The animals were assigned to four treatments [fresh spineless cactus processed twice daily at the time of supply (FC2); fresh spineless cactus processed only once, in the morning, and supplied twice daily (FC1); spinelesscactus silage without inoculant (CS); and spineless-cactus silage with microbial inoculant (CSI)] in a completely randomized design with five replications per treatment. The experimental period was 21 days. The use of spineless cactus in the form of silage (CS and CSI) resulted in higher (P < 0.05) intakes of dry matter, organic matter, neutral detergent fiber, ether extract, non-fibrous carbohydrates, and total digestible nutrients; and higher digestibility coefficients of dry matter, organic matter, and total digestible nutrients. Lower counts of fecal enterobacteria were also observed with the ensiled cactus. By contrast, the diets did not influence (P> 0.05) nitrogen balance, microbial efficiency, urinary nitrogen losses, or fecal nitrogen losses. Regardless of inoculation, the ensiling of spineless cactus improves the sanitary quality of the diet, reducing the amount of enterobacteria in the cactus and resulting mainly in improved nutrient intake by sheep.
